Brushless Dc Motors With Integrated Electronics
01 January 2003
Crouzet has a range of brushless dc motors in 30W and 90W capacities,
which feature built-in electronic controllers for speed regulation,
direction control and overload protection. Versions of the motor provide
integrated speed regulation (constant load applications), and an
integrated speed loop for maintaining constant speed under varying loads.
Hall effect sensors are used to detect rotor position, speed and
direction, while the internal electronics provides inputs for on/off,
direction of rotation, 0-10V dc speed control, PWM and encoder signals.
Motor temperature and supply current are constantly monitored, and should
these move outside preset limits the motor will automatically shut down.
The motors can be supplied for direct drive or with a choice of offset
planetary gearboxes.
*Crouzet has recently announced the appointment of Camis Group as a UK
specialist distributor of its motor and gearbox ranges. Camis can provide
adapted products, control systems and even complete products and
assemblies. The company has a variety of relevant skills, including the
manufacture of wiring looms, precision sheet metal fabrication and
control system software development.
