CMS Vibrations strengthens product portfolio with CMS ISOPad

16 May 2007

CMS Vibration Solutions has bolstered its anti-vibration and structural isolation product portfolio with the introduction of CMS ISOPad – a highly resilient laminated fabric reinforced rubber pad designed to reduce impact, shock, vibration and structure-borne noise.

Appropriate for installation across a mix of construction and industrial applications, the CMS ISOPad is frequently selected as a high stress resilient bearing to support highway bridges, residential building structures and heavy industrial machinery.

Manufactured of tightly twisted, closely woven, lightweight duck fabric layers, the CMS ISOPad is permeated with an elastomeric compound containing mould and mildew inhibiting agents. This scientific design ensures long term performance and resistance to contamination.

Capable of withstanding loads in excess of 10,000 Psi (69Mpa), the CMS ISOPad retains its original dimensions under long term suppression, unlike solid rubber pad materials that rely on material flow to provide the necessary deflection and performance. The CMS ISOPad also has a long-term creep deflection of just five per cent of its original thickness.

Impervious to most oils and to the effects of steam, water and brine, the CMS ISOPad can be continuously exposed to temperatures of 200oF (93oC) maximum and -20oF (-29oC) minimum without structural isolation performance being compromised.

Paul Lafone, director for CMS Vibration Solutions, comments: “By offering an extensive range of anti-vibration and structural isolation materials, we can always specify the most appropriate solution for any type of industrial or construction application.”

Supplied in pads, washers and bushings, CMS ISOPad material is offered in seven standard thickness sheets which range from 4mm to 25.4mm. The CMS ISOPad can also be stacked and bonded together in order to achieve the desired thickness, natural frequency or deflection.

CMS Vibrations is part of the CMS Group, which also includes CMS Acoustics, a specialist provider of acoustic products for the construction and industrial sectors.
