Lead screw drives are more efficient, less noisy and last longer
29 May 2015
When supplied with a leadscrew nut made of iglidur J, the new dryspin drives from igus are self-lubricating and maintenance free, as well as being lightweight and resistant to dirt, chemicals and humidity.
By eliminating lubricants, drylin lead screws are suitable for applications in hygienic environments, such as those found in laboratory automation and medical equipment. The lead screw nuts are also available in iglidur A180, which conforms to FDA guidelines for the food and drinks industry.
The drive has an optimised thread angle for longer life and enhanced efficiency. dryspin technology employs obtuse thread angles instead of the acute angles found in standard symmetrical lead screw drives, so there is less transverse force. In addition, the optimised radius thread design helps reduce the transmission of vibrations that can cause noise.
drylin lead screw dives are available for delivery within three working days.
