Squeezing the most from your drive(01/05/2012)

How best to puree fruit containing stones, or to separate fish from bones? And how to remove sinew and gristle from meat without waste? In the food industry, so-called soft separators are used to gently separate such materials, and these now rely increasingly on modern drive technology to ensure both economical running and consistently high product quality.

Surface protection system for aluminium provides alternative to stainless steel(20/04/2012)

Nord drivesystems' new NSD tupH sealed surface conversion system provides a versatile, cost effective and weight saving alternative to stainless steel gear case units for harsh environment and high hygiene applications. The finish employs a catalytic process that permanently bonds a base layer to the aluminium substrate. With no application of paint or other material, aluminium gear case surfaces are transformed with a durable protective finish that has a  6- to 7-fold

Efficiency measures should be built into the complete drive system says Nord(18/10/2011)

It is Nord Drivesystems' view that energy saving does not stop at optimising the consumption of individual motors but that practical efficiency measures and a 'green' approach should also be built into the complete drive system together with consideration for the overall application process. Nord has developed innovative efficiency optimised drive features that include high-frequency operation, automatic flux adjustment, energy recovery, and intermediate circuit coupling.

    Gearboxes for food processing equipment(07/04/2011)

A new line of two-stage helical bevel gear units were showcased on NORD Drivesystems' stand at Hanover this week. The new units are suitable for washdown, and all external surfaces feature wide radii with no indentations or dead spaces. As the installation measurements remain essentially the same, users can easily exchange old gear units for the new models. Additionally, the new models have greater power reserves than their predecessors and therefore allow smaller sizes to be used.
