Wind turbines cannot be serviced easily. This is why the components of the gearbox, especially the bearings, must be exceptionally reliable.

At this year’s Hannover Messe in Germany, NKE Austria GmbH presents bearings with black oxide finish.

Electrically insulated bearings from NKE, designated with the suffix SQ77, are provided with an oxide ceramic insulation layer. These bearings offer exactly the same outer dimensions and technical characteristics as the corresponding non-insulated types.

NKE Austria's rolling bearing cages with DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coating are tougher and last longer than the standard, non-coated brass variants. Other bearing components, besides cages, can also be treated with the amorphous carbon coating.

For bearings and metal parts that are exposed directly to humid or corrosive environments, NKE Austria offers a special galvanic coating that provides cost effective protection against corrosion.

NKE Austria's electrically insulated rolling bearings provide reliable protection against shaft current discharges and subsequent corrosion in electric motors, generators and other electrical machines.
