The 2014 release of Delcam’s PowerSHAPE CAD software offers a range of new functionality for the conversion of product designs into tooling designs.

During a visit to MACH 2012 (NEC, April 16-20) business secretary Vince Cable expressed his pleasure at being able to meet, as he described, "so many of the outstanding engineers and companies" at the event. "Whether exhibiting the latest technology or looking to apply it to dynamic businesses, the people here demonstrate the UK’s extraordinary capacity to create, engineer and manufacture world class products," he said.

Delcam has dramatically reduced the price of the entry-level version of its ArtCAM CADCAM software for engraving and woodworking, ArtCAM Express, to £99. ArtCAM Express offers 2D drawing, and 2D and standard 3D machining functions, and so provides an ideal introduction to computer-based manufacturing for companies in the engraving, woodworking and signmaking industries. A range of modules add extra functionality as the user develops his skills and wishes to take on more complex projects.

Delcam is to host an international Aerospace Meet the Buyer event at its Birmingham headquarters on Wednesday, March 2 2011. The event is being organised by UK Trade & Investment and the Enterprise Europe Network, in partnership with the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and Advantage West Midlands. More than 30 aerospace OEMs and tier-one manufacturers are expected to attend, to meet sub-contractors and talk about their supply-chain requirements.
